The shared ICT services of Oulu universities provide assistance with IT matters. IT support helps you with IT issues related to the services offered by the universities.
It’s always a good idea to check if your problem might be due to a planned outage or a temporary disruption that is already being addressed. There might be a notice about it in the intranet (for students, use Tuudo (mobile app), for Oamk staff, use Heimo (SharePoint), for OY staff, use Patio.
You can often solve common problems yourself using the instructions found on the ICT services’ guide pages. You can browse the instructions in order of freshness on the “Instructions and Notices” tab, where you have access to a search engine and a keyword cloud. Additionally, you can browse link lists on the “For Students” or “For Staff” tabs. If you can’t find help for your problem, contact ICT services. You can reach them by email, at campus service points, or by phone for urgent matters. The service number and hours can be found on the homepage.

Make a service request e.g. ticket to Campus ICT support service
Make a ticket by email:
- as a guest, student, staff member or an UFO user, send an email to the address: ict@oulu.fi.
In urgent matters, make a call:
- as a guest, student, staff member or an UFO user, call the number: 0294 483 124.
Your request will be solved immediately, or it will be forwarded to the expert or group responsible for the service in question.
Visit Campus ICT service point in Linnanmaa
If your matter requires a personal visit, drop in the Campus ICT service point:
- Usually open: on weekdays at 9 – 13, possible exceptions are published on the page https://ict.oulu.fi.
- Location: in Linnanmaa campus, in TH109.
- Use MazeMap: feed “TH109” or “Campus ICT” and it guides you there!
If your problem applies to the username of an account or to its password, you can solve the matter in most cases yourself:
Did you forget the user account? Don’t you know your account name yet?
- Authenticate through Suomi.fi to the Accountinfo service: https://account.oulu.fi/accountinfo. You find your user account name in the service.
Did you forget the password? Do you want to set the password?
- Authenticate through Suomi.fi to the Passwd service: https://account.oulu.fi/passwd. Set a new password in the service.
- Note that this requires a Finnish bank account, if you do not have one, contact ict@oulu.fi or visit our service point (don’t forget identification).
Did you type your account in the right form?
- Certain services require a user name in a certain form. Look at the different forms of your student account, staff account or UFO account.
Does your password meet the requirements?
- If there are special characters or Scandinavian letters in the password, it will cause problems in the external services as printing service, O365 and Laptop Vendor.

- Sign-in the Passwd service: https://account.oulu.fi/passwd and set a new password.
Is your account valid?
- Check the status of your account by authenticating through Suomi.fi to the Accountinfo service: https://account.oulu.fi/accountinfo.
- If a problem is not solved or you are unable to use the self-service, you can send a support request directly from the service to the Campus ICT support service.
