The home computer or another device which is not in the control of the ICT Services of the university can be used to deal with the information which is related to the work and is classified as public. The handling of the internal information is allowed at own risk, then the information security protection and privacy protection of the home computer have to be in order.
Information processing with home computer
Due to the risks which are related to data privacy, information security and the legislation, the work assignments must be carried out with the computer which is maintained by the university’s ICT Services, when the matter to be processed or the data classification require so.
Processing of work-related data on a home computer:
- Public material allowed
- Internal material allowed with restrictions: handling requires that as a user of the home computer you take the responsibility for the information security of the device (software updates, malware protection, firewall), for the privacy protection and for the making of back-up copies and for the safe storing of them. If you save internal material on the home computer, it must be protected with the encryption and to be removed, when it is not needed any more. Read more: File encryption.
