Sometimes a visitor (for example a visiting lecturer) needs to be able to log in to a computer maintained by ICT Services or use a wireless network (“Owlan“ network on the Oamk campus), or the visitor may need to use other Oamk systems to a limited extent.
In these situations, Oamk can order an account for the guest, which can be either
- Short-term (duration 1 day – max. 2 weeks) light account, which can be used to log in to the computers of the classrooms and the computers of the laptop lending service (Note: logging in with a light account is not possible for the laptops of the Oamk staff). The account is free of charge and does not have printing rights. The account is not an M365 account, so it does not have access to for example Oamk’s SharePoint-Heimo.
- A longer-term UFO account, which has more extensive rights to use Oamk’s services than a light account, but it still does not give access to all the same services as Oamk’s staff account, for example HR system Mepco. The account is subject to a fee. The account is an M365 account, and it can be used to access for example Heimo in Sharepoint.
Ordering a light account
- Oamk staff member: Order a light account(s) from the ICT services (ict@oulu.fi).
- Tell us how many people you need the credentials for.
- Also tell us start and end date for the credentials. The duration of the credentials is a maximum of two weeks.
- You will receive a list of credentials and passwords by email.
Ordering an UFO account
There are separate instructions for UFO accounts: UFO user account and email address for an external user
The visitor account service that was used through Oamk’s old Heimo is no longer in use.
