Private use of the university phone plan

Keywords: ,

When using the university’s phone plan for your personal calls and text messages, separate them from work calls and texts using the bill-splitting service. This way, the operator will bill your personal calls and texts directly to you.

As a user of the university’s phone plan, you agree to comply with Elisa’s 151 billing service agreement (in Finnish).

You can accept the agreement by:

  • Checking the box “The user of the subscription accepts the 151 agreement” on the electronic mobile order form when ordering the subscription. Also, provide the billing address for personal calls (home address).
  • Alternatively, sign the paper version of the agreement and submit it scanned or on paper to mobile support.

Bill-Splitting Service and 151 Code

Separate personal calls and texts by adding the code 151 before the recipient’s number.

  • Save personal numbers in your phone’s address book with the 151 prefix.
  • Note that if you call from the call history, the 151 prefix is not automatically included. The same applies to replying to text messages.
  • Multimedia messages cannot be sent with the 151 prefix.
  • The bill-splitting service only works within the country.

The operator will send the first bill to your home address free of charge:

  • Change the bill to e-invoice, as subsequent paper bills will cost €3.50 each.
  • If your home address changes, inform the Campus ICT service point, which will update the information with the operator.

Using the 151 Code for Domestic Calls and Texts

  • Always add the code 151 before the recipient’s domestic phone number.
  • Do not use the country code.
  • If the number appears in the call history as +358401234567, omit the country code +358 and replace it with 0.
    • Example: 1510401234567

Using the 151 Code for International Calls

  • Always add the code 151 before the recipient’s international phone number.
  • If the number appears in the call history as +46757575757, omit the + sign and replace it with the operator’s international code 999.
    • Example: 15199946757575757

Using the 151 Code for International Texts

  • Always add the code 151 before the recipient’s international phone number.
  • If the number appears in the received text message as +46757575757, omit the + sign and replace it with the code 00.
    • Example: 1510046757575757
