The university’s and Oamk’s AVD environment (Azure Virtual Desktop) runs on the Microsoft Azure cloud service. The service consists of virtual servers operated by the university’s and Oamk’s shared ICT Services. The service is primarily intended for use of students, but staff can also access the service.
You can use AVD remote desktops without VPN connection:
- You need a working internet connection and a web browser that supports the service (MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox or Safari).
- Alternatively, you can install the Windows App on your Windows or macOS computer and use it to access AVD remote desktops.
Log in to AVD service with your university´s M365 username and also identify with MFA, e.g. multi-factor authentication by your phone.
