Once you have ordered and received your university/Oamk phone, set it up as per the instructions below. According the phone, read Android or iPhone instructions:
- Setting up (iPhone)
- Setting up (Android)
- Note! Some phones, such as Nokia, might ask for a domain when connecting to WiFi. The domain is oulu.fi.
Your new phone is under centralized control of ICT Services.
PUK Code, Subscription Locked
If the SIM card’s PIN code is entered incorrectly three times, the SIM card will be locked. The locked subscription can be unlocked with the PUK code.
The PUK code for an organization-owned subscription can only be obtained from ICT services (mobiilituki@oulu.fi). The code will always be sent to the user’s work email. The code will not be provided over the phone.
Note! If the PUK code is entered incorrectly too many times, the SIM card will be permanently locked, and the SIM card will need to be replaced. Do not attempt to guess the code.
Mobile Certificate
A mobile certificate is a way to authenticate electronically without using bank credentials.
The user of the subscription must personally activate the mobile certificate. Activation can be done online at https://varmenne.elisa.fi.
- The mobile certificate is valid for 5 years, after which the SIM card must be replaced and re-registered.
- The mobile certificate does not work with eSIM subscriptions.
