Setting up and managing a new Windows-computer

Since March 1, 2024, the new Windows computers for staff have been cloud-managed by ICT Services.

The guide includes the most important IT guidelines and contact details; and is particularly useful for new employees.

The main changes compared to the time before March 1, 2024: 

  • Among other things, the computer user installs the basic softwares from the Company Portal instead of the Software Center
  • Cloud-managed machines will have biometric login to the computer via Windows Hello, so you can choose to use PIN-code, facial recognition or fingerprint to login.
  • On support situations, ICT Services can help customers via RemoteHelp, if required. This software offers ICT-support personell a change to take control of the computer and help remotely. The software comes pre-installed on new computers.

Computers purchased before March 1, 2024 will continue to be used for the lifetime of the computer.
