If you have a Finnish bank account, you can check the status of your Oamk username and reset your password online

  1. If you you need to check your username or account status, please go to Account info service. Log in using Suomi.fi: You will need your (Finnish) bank PIN, mobile certificate or an electronic ID card as ID. (If you are not able to use suomi.fi, please contact ict@oulu.fi)
    • On the page you will see e.g. if your password has changed to all systems. If there are problems with your account, an error message will appear at the bottom of the page, as well as possible instructions if you can solve the problem yourself. You can also send a support request through the page if a problem was detected with your account that you cannot solve by yourself.
  2. If you need to reset your password, go to the change password service. Also this uses Suomi.fi. Your new password will be updated to the Oamk systems within fifteen minutes.

NB. If you do not have a Finnish bank account, you will need to visit the Oamk’s student services (or ICT services). Remember to take a valid ID with you to get the account. In case you already have an account but you have forgotten your password, make sure you have a correct mobile phone number in Peppi (the student administration system) and contact ICT services, as you can ask for a new password sent to you to the (Finnish) phone number you have in Peppi. If you do not have a Finnish phone number, then you will have to come to the ICT services office within office hours and have your identity papers with you.


How to log in

  1. Enable two-step verification (MFA). MFA means that you need to verify To make sure it is you who is trying to log in: the password alone is not enough but you need to use your phone as well. You can use the Authenticator mobile app, or phone call or SMS to confirm your login. 
    (Please note, you will have to redo this also for your existing account, if you have not used your account since the migration, May 17, 2024)

    1. If you want to use the Authenticator app, please see the instructions for Multi-Factor Authentication MFA (OU).
      • in case you have had your Oamk account already in use before May 2024, it is a good idea to first remove the that username information from the mobile app, and then add the new one.
    2. If you prefer a call or text message, go to https://account.oulu.fi/ and select the option where you can set the phone number used in MFA login (this requires suomi.fi identification).
  2. Log in to M365 at https://o365.oulu.fi
    • If you have had your Oamk account already before May 2024, and you are experiencing problems logging in, please
      • clear your browser cache,
      • log out of the MS desktop applications and then log back in.
