VISU is an audited and secure research environment designed for research and development projects that involve sensitive, confidential, or protected data. The environment complies with the requirements set by Findata and the Finnish Act on the Secondary Use of Health and Social Data (552/2019).
VISU provides researchers with a modern workspace where data can be processed securely using either Windows or Linux desktop environments. The service combines a high level of information security, flexible working capabilities, and services specifically designed to support research activities.

More Than an Environment for Registry-Based Research

Coming to the University of Oulu
The deployment of the VISU service at the University of Oulu is planned for Q3 2026. The goal is to provide researchers and partners with a centralized, secure, and easy-to-use environment for demanding research and development activities.
