Formation of the usage environment price
VISU is a computing environment intended for fixed-term use, and the price is determined based on either research or teaching use.
The price of the VISU environment is not affected by the nature of the data being processed (Secondary Use Act / sensitive data).
The prices presented below do not include value-added tax (VAT).
The environment price includes
- Establishment and maintenance of one user environment
- Installation of required applications
- Investigation and resolution of technical issues
- Transfer of source data subject to the Secondary Use Act into the user environment
- Transfer of result data from the user environment
- Modifications to the user environment
The environment price does NOT include
- Data transfer fees charged by Findata or third parties
- License costs for installed applications
- Training on the use of applications
Procurement of additional capacity with project funding
If additional capacity is to be procured for the VISU environment using project funding, please contact ICT Services.
More detailed procedures are provided by the VISU environment administrators.
Environment suspension
The VISU environment can be suspended if necessary.
During the suspension period, no costs are incurred for computing capacity; storage capacity costs are charged as normal.
VISU pricing in research use
For research use, the price of the VISU environment is based on the reserved capacity.
The monthly price is calculated according to the following formula:
Base fee of the environment + Number of CPU cores * Price per CPU core + Amount of main memory (GB) * Price per GB of main memory + Reserved disk space (GB) * Price per GB of disk space + possible GPU computing card price
The currently valid price list for the components is shown in the table below. The table includes monthly and annual prices for individual components.

VISU pricing in education use
For educational use, the price of the VISU environment is fixed and based on the number of users.
Educational use is considered to include use for a thesis or doctoral dissertation, as well as use in teaching that is part of a degree‑leading education.
Educational use does not include situations where the environment is used for research and the authors of a thesis or doctoral dissertation are involved, but their work is not the primary purpose of the activity.
Price formation
- Setup fee: 200 € / environment
- Concurrent users: 10 € / user
- No other capacity‑based fees are charged
- Maximum environment duration: 6 months
The setup fee will be charged again if educational use is continued.
