Before traveling, check what kind of plan your mobile device has; whether it is possible to use the phone or mobile broadband abroad and what the costs will be. You can inquire about this from ICT services (mobiilituki@oulu.fi).
Depending on your destination and the duration of your trip, you might consider getting a temporary plan, such as Reissunetti.
Check your plan
Phone:
- If your phone has a domestic plan, you cannot make calls or use data abroad. However, you can connect your phone to a wireless network to use the internet, but only connect to secure networks.
- If your phone has a domestic + international plan, you can make calls and use data abroad in EU and EEA countries, with a limit of 7 GB/month.
Other mobile devices (laptop, tablet):
- If your mobile device has a domestic plan, you cannot use data abroad. However, you can connect the device to a wireless network to use the internet, but only connect to secure networks.
- If your device has a domestic + international plan, you can use data in EU and EEA countries, with a limit of 7 GB/month.
Outside EU and EEA countries (Patio)
