Centralized management is a key part of phone security, manageability, and content protection. For example, through centralized management, screen lock, PIN, or access code can be enforced on the phone.
Centralized management:
- The phone can be remotely locked or wiped if necessary (e.g., theft, loss, etc.).
- Technical information about the phone (software version, model, serial number, etc.) can be viewed.
- Applications deemed necessary for work tasks can be pre-installed on the phone through management. Additionally, users can download and install desired applications from the phone’s app store. Users must activate the applications themselves.
- The phone’s software cannot be updated through centralized management; this must be done by the phone’s user.
- The phone’s location or content information cannot be viewed through management.
- Management does not restrict the use of the phone.
Dual SIM phones:
Dual SIM phones can simultaneously use a SIM card intended for work tasks and a private SIM card. The work SIM card must always be placed in SIM slot 1 or the eSIM slot, and mobile data must be routed through the work SIM.
- The SIM card provided for work tasks is owned by the employer. The work connection is managed by ICT services. The user cannot make any changes to the work connection’s features; all changes and inquiries are handled through ICT services.
- The private SIM card is owned and managed by the user. The employer cannot manage the private connection.
If the phone is lost:
- The user can temporarily close the work connection through Elisa.
- On weekdays (8-16), you can also report to ICT services customer service at +358 29443124 or via email at ict@oulu.fi or mobiilituki@oulu.fi.
- To temporarily close the connection, information about the phone number to be closed is required. After closure, the connection can be reopened.
